AZ4NORML Chapter members Stu Green & Michelle B. Graye have teamed up to form a political committee called Good Day Sunshine.  The goal of Good Day Sunshine is to have a local ballot initiative (SENSIBLE TUCSON) that makes possession of marijuana of a small amount (2 and 1/2 ounces) of marijuana and paraphernalia into a petty offense with a fine of $25.00 for a first offense.  Many cities such as Ann Arbor (Michigan), Breckenridge (CO), Denver (CO) and Santa Barbara (CA) have these decrim bills and they are very popular with the citizens and law enforcement because they compliment the medical marijuana programs as well as freeing up the police to prioritize their resources on more serious crimes.

Any one interested in helping gather signatures come to one of the AZ4NORML general meetings (2nd Saturday’s of the month at Ward VI council offices) and pick up a signature sheet and help the cause.  If successful, SENSIBLE TUCSON will be on the ballot for the November 8, 2011 election.
